BioWashBall’s cleaning power comes from effective microorganism ceramics, created by embedding beneficial microbes-such as lactic acid bacteria, yeast, and photosynthetic bacteria-into natural clay and firing it at high temperatures.

The ceramic in the Biowashball contains microscopic pores that absorb dirt, bacteria, and other impurities. When the ball is dried in sunlight, these are decomposed and removed by the TiO₂ (titanium dioxide) coating. Therefore, it is important to dry the Biowashball in sunlight about once a month.
